We use a multitude of techniques and strategies to design landscapes that not only provide forage for birds, pollinators and people but also help save energy and money too.

For example the proper placement of a shade tree can reduce your home's air conditioning bill by 15-50% and our Diverse bio-hedges can create windbreaks reducing winter heating by up to 40%.

Our water conscious designs integrate Mycoscaping and Native plants to make our gardens need less but produce more. Using Xeriscaping we can reduce your water consumption by 50-70% and our food forests can supply your family with fresh organic fruits, vegetables and herbs.

Birdscaping - From their songs and bright colors to their grace in flight, birds are a delight to the senses and a sign of a healthy environment.  The earth today is a very harsh place for most forms of wildlife. Nearly one third of all U.S. birds are endangered, threatened or in significant decline due to habitat loss, invasive species, and other threats. The good news is that your garden can be a safe haven for birds of all kinds. Birdscaping is designing landscapes with our fine feathered friends in mind. Our designers have done work for bird watching groups such as the Gallatin Valley Audubon Society.

Pollinator Gardens - Butterflies, bubble bees, beetles and many other invertebrates can add a touch of magic to a summer day and keep away damaging pests. Pollinator populations are in decline, attributed  to a loss of habitat and disease.  Pollinator gardens support and maintain pollinators by supplying pollen nectar and shelter helping to ensure these species continued survival.  One key to our pollinator gardens that sets us apart is our use of Fungi to help improve pollinators immune system.  Find out more here.

Mycoscaping - Mushrooms aren’t just tasty, they are one of the most underutilized tool in the landscape.  They boost the nutrient availability in the soil, while removing toxic chemicals and improving soil quality. Symbiotic fungi increase drought resistance and carbon sequestration of their hosts. In addition to all of this, Mushrooms are a magnificent source of immune system boosting foods for people and pollinators.  We use Fungi throughout our designs to increase the sustainability and impact of our projects. We call it Mycoscaping.

Food Forests -  We use design principles centered on emulating and directly utilizing patterns we observe in nature to create multi-layered diverse perennial food production systems that focus on creating the maximum amount of food with the minimum input.   The best part is you can fit a food forest in your backyard, provide your family with healthy organic food and reduce your grocery bill.
